Sermon: "Easter Questions"

God is my strength and song

Book of Acts: Acts 10: 34-43

Peter preaches "God shows no partiality"

Gospel Lesson: Mark 16: 1-8

Mary and the empty tomb

Theme: If we leave here today the same people we were as when we came we've missed the point of this day.  Easter isn't the annual remembrance and celebration of an event in history. It's a new way of being, it's a new way of living. Easter  is less a noun and more a verb.

April 11th., 2021

Order of Service

Prelude:

Opening Prayer

Hymn: # 53 (Praise) Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee

Pastoral Prayer

Hymn: # 37 (Black) We Shall Go Out with Hope And Resurrections

The blessing of living together in unity

Book of Acts: Acts 4: 32-35

The Believers share their possessions

Gospel Lesson: John 20: 19-31

Jesus appears to the disciples and Thomas

Theme: Jesus did not unlock the doors for the disciples . They would have to do that for themselves, and so do you and I.  No one else, not even Jesus can open the doors I've locked.  That's for you and me to do. That's our Easter life, and you and I already hold in our hands the key.
