Today is the Advent of peace.
As we light this candle, we remember all those who live int the midst of conflict, in their own homes, in their communities, in their countries, anywhere in the world.
We live in a fractured world,
Of racial tensions and economic disparity.
We light this candle as our commitment
To embracing diversity.
We are the peacemakers in this world.
We light this candle to herald the coming of Jesus,
The Prince of Peace.

Gracious God, you offer us a gift beyond price. Your son is to us the Prince of Peace. In gratitude for your abundant gifts, we commit ourselves to act justly, in solidarity with the poor, and we pledge our assistance to those who are in need. May the gifts we bring before you this day hasten the day when none will hurt or destroy on all your holy mountain. Amen.

and all that lives.
We live in a world,
That takes more from the world than it gives.
We light this candle as our commitment to the joy of living
In respect with creation.
We are the caretakers of this earth, our home.
We light this candle in celebration of Jesus,
The Light of the world.
